Custom Doesn’t Mean Custom Pricing!

As an owner, my staff and I are frequently asked an array of questions about pricing.  For example, we hear “How much would a window treatment run for a standard window?” or “How much does custom drapery cost”?  Or “Is custom drapery  affordable?”

Lets start with the last question on affordability.  My response to this and really all of these cost questions is what I will call relativity.  What is considered affordable to one customer may not be affordable to another.  We definitely think a customer should have a price range in mind of what they realistically want to spend and this needs to be communicated to us as well as possible.  The reason being is that there are fabrics for draperies that can run as low as $8.99/yard and I have seen fabrics run well over $200.00/yard.  We want to help the customer get the best look first and foremost..but, we also want to work with their budgets too.  Don’t be ashamed to tell us what you are thinking or don’t be ashamed to tell us you have never bought custom.  We are here to help and we will educate you as well as possible.  With regards to cost on standard windows and how much it costs, again, it is all relative.  We cannot  price window treatments unless we have the style, fabrics(and possibly trims too) and the sizes.  Really picking the styles and material is key here, otherwise its truly a guessing game.  Are we working with panels of draperies as well as valances to cover?  Will there be sheers?  Or will we be adding a blind or shade for privacy?  A lot of questions that need to be answered and hence why we offer complimentary in home appointments.  Call us today or click for an appointment or visit us in our Chesterfield  Valley or Sunset Hills location to schedule an appointment.  Explore the possibilities with us!  There is a reason we have been in business since 1969 and have an A+ Better Business Bureau rating.

WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE A PERSONALIZED DESIGN FOR YOUR CLOSET

PERSONALIZED DESIGNS FOR YOUR CLOSET(S) BENEFITS YOU IN SEVERAL WAYS:

  • YOU GET WHAT YOU NEED  – PERSONALIZED DESIGNS, IF DONE CORRECTLY, WILL GIVE YOU THE EXACT AMOUNT OF SPACE YOU NEED FOR HANGING, DRESSES, SKIRTS, BLOUSES, SHIRTS, SLACKS, & SUITS.  IT WILL ALSO GIVE YOU THE AMOUNT OF SPACE NEEDED FOR SHOES, FOLDED ITEMS SUCH AS SWEATERS, T-SHIRTS, SWEATSHIRTS, WORK – OUT CLOTHES, & PURSESTHERE IS NO WASTED SPACE.
  • YOU HAVE OPTIONS – DRAWERS, BASKETS, PULLOUTS, TIE RACKS, BELT RACKS, & OTHER ACCESSORY OPTIONS CAN BE ADDED OR LEFT OUT, BASED ON YOUR NEEDS AND WANTS.
  • DELINATED SPACE – ARRANGEMENTS CAN BE MADE FOR DELINATED SEPARATE SPACES.  EACH PERSON USING THE CLOSET CAN HAVE “THEIR OWN” SPACE WITHIN THE CLOSET.  THIS ALLOWS FOR EASE OF USE.
  • NO NEED FOR SEASONAL CHANGE – IF SPACE ALLOWS IN THE CLOSET, AND THE DESIGN IS DONE CORRECTLY, SEASONAL CHANGEOVER CAN BE ELIMINATED.

A CUSTOMIZED DESIGN WILL PROVIDE FOR BETTER OVERALL FUNCTIONAL USAGE OF THE CLOSET SPACE AND ALLOW THE USER TO CONVENIENTLY FIND ANY PARTICULIAR PIECE OF CLOTHING OR ARTICLE IN THE CLOSET.  IT WILL ALLOW THE USER BETTER UTILIZATION OF THEIR TIME BECAUSE THEY WILL KNOW EXACTLY WHERE TO FIND THAT FAVORITE SHIRT, BLOUSE OR SLACK WITHIN RUMMAGING THROUGH THE WHOLE CLOSET.  IN SHORT, A CUSTOMIZED CLOSET DESIGN WILL REDUCE THE TIME AND HASSLE OF SPENDING “TIME IN THE CLOSET”.

ORGanize your Kids Room in 2011

If your house is like mine after the holidays all the kids get New Cloths and toys and need their Closet Organized here are some pointers

Just as youngsters take baby steps to learn how to walk, getting children’s rooms de-cluttered and cleaned also requires baby steps. You don’t have to be the cleaning fairy, magically whisking it all away. Just follow these simple tips for keeping their rooms tidy.

  • Take a baby step approach to de-cluttering. First skim away trash. Then hamper laundry. Store items in appropriately labeled bins, boxes and baskets. Wire baskets make it easy to see and retrieve what’s inside eliminating the need to dump out the contents to find what you are looking for.
  • Show kids where things go with picture and word labels. Art Supplies. Books. Blocks. Games. Movies. Puzzles. While you build good organizational habits, you can help kids make meaningful connections between words, illustrations and actual objects.
  • Make it easy to pick up and put away school supplies and clothes by lowering hooks, bars and shelves. Step stools can help but, for safety and ease, lower is better. Double up on clothing bars – one low and within your child’s reach, the other higher for special or out-of-season clothes.
  • Let them express without the mess. Designate shelves, tack boards or other special areas for artistic display and A-plus school projects. Allowing your child to prominently display their accomplishments affirms their efforts and, at the same time, gives them a sense of responsibility for the room.
  • Create a comfortable study space. Situate desk and chair heights so that your child’s knees, elbows and hips relax at right angles while they are seated at the keyboard or writing surface. To make a growing child comfortable, choose an adjustable chair and add a footstool when needed.

In which area of your home does your kids’ belongings pile up the most, and how do you manage the clutter?
