Leadership

In 2008, Bruce Bernstein took the reins of Sunshine, continuing a four–decade
tradition of service and expertise. Bruce, a native of St. Louis, graduated from
Clayton High School in 1980 and went to Indiana University where he earned
his marketing degree before taking his first position in the industry with
May Department Stores and the Famous Barr division.

Bruce’s dedication to personal service is rooted in a career built from the ground up. His 12 year May Company career included positions in Store Management, Buying, and human resources before being selected to lead as General Sales Manager.

Bruce became President of Sunshine in 2004 and, on July 1, 2008, Bruce fulfilled a lifelong dream when he purchased Sunshine Drapery.

History
In 1969, Les Finkelstein and the late Bill Ackerman began a grand adventure to help Saint Louisans transform their home interiors when they opened the doors to Sunshine Drapery and Interior Fashions. Les and Bill’s philosophy of COMPLIMENTARY in–home consultation was immediately recognized as a service innovation. It would become the cornerstone of Sunshine’s success.
