The swags that are seen in a funeral home are very traditional looking and are mounted on a board. You cannot see the board and they are actually very elegant. Do customers put this style in their home?

Roman shades are simply “cool” – there’s no other way to describe them.
Roman shades can be made by a drapery company or they may be purchased from a window covering company who sells blinds and shades. For example, Hunter Douglas, a major supplier and well known name in the industry has the vignette. Comfortex Window Fashions, a division of Hunter Douglas recently came out with the Envision II shade.

Every few months its a good idea to take a stroll around your home. Take stock of all of the little “fix it projects” that you might stumble upon. Windows in a home take up almost as much square footage as the floor and deserve as much if not more attention.
Windows are at eye level for the most part and a focal point. They are the first “thing” we seen when entering a space. Nothing says I need more help than a broken window treatment.
If you have a broken shutter, you may have to decide if it can be fixed. However, generally speaking, there really are only two areas where a shutter may break down. (more…)
Before there were faux wood blinds, there were only wood blinds.
Why would one consider a wood blind versus a faux blind?
First, a wood blind is natural and is very rich looking by its nature. The faux blinds have come a long way and look like a wood blind, but the wood blind does stand out on its own.
In terms of weight, a wood blinds is very light in comparison to a faux blind. It’s not to say that you should consider raising and lowering the wood blinds just because they are lighter than a faux wood. In fact, we highly recommend that any 2 inch wood or faux wood blind be in the down position with the slats open or closed. Wood or faux wood blinds just are not meant to be raised and lowered on a regular basis. (more…)
