A box pleated valance adds classical design. Another great choice is a Julia style valance. The Elizabeth style valance adds classical and timeless beauty to any window with a light and airy touch.
If you simply want to dress your windows that have existing blinds, you may wish to have a valance at the top. There are many styles available including a Jamaica, Maui and Oahu. Other styles include the Sandra and Natural valance and occasionally some more traditional homes utilize a balloon style valance.
The type of fabric you choose for designer window toppers is also very important to the appearance you want to convey.
Thin and flowing fabrics such as silk and lace are great in windows that don’t have a lot of sun in them during the day. Maybe you wish to have some extra insulation on a window with ample sunlight – then you can
choose a heavier fabric such as brocade, which was loved by kings and queens past.
On the other hand, you can choose a lighter fabric with a heavier lining to achieve to appearance of lightness with the extra layer of protection on the back to keep your lovely designer fabric from fading from the sunshine.
Lastly, you can choose the colors you want from our great selection in all types of decorator fabrics.
You may want a solid color or a pattern. Gingham is a lovely pattern for a country breakfast area or kitchen window.
